Vibration Analysis

This is a very broad field and includes analysis of rotating machinery and structural vibrations. Vibration analysis programs offer the highest payback of all condition assessment technologies and are typically the centerpiece of reliability efforts. Vibration analysis of rotating equipment is gearbox housing misalignment resulting in gear teeth overloading and spalling
conducted to diagnose problematic machinery or to routinely monitor equipment to detect developing problems. The routine monitoring of machinery usually includes motors, pumps, fans, compressors, centrifuges, machining tools and other general plant equipment. Data is collected using a portable analyzer, and the data uploaded to a PC for analysis.
Reports can be provided in Word or Excel formats. Reporting can be provided via email, on our server portal or hard copy. RBMware databases can also be uploaded to our server for evaluation of the data collected by personnel at your site.
Vibration analysis can detect many equipment problems including but not limited to the following:
  • Unbalance
  • Misalignment
  • Structural Resonance
  • Bearing Defects
  • Bent Shaft
  • Mechanical Looseness
  • Rotor Rub
  • Pump Cavitation
  • Motor Electrical Faults
  • Gearbox Faults
Critical rotating equipment may require online protection monitoring which can be networked to data acquisition computers.
A vibration-monitoring program can be provided for your facility  with KSC Consulting LLC trained analysts.
Portable Vibration monitoring services include the following:
  • Plant Equipment Audit
  • Database Development
  • Survey Routes Established
  • Synchronous time averaging
  • Order normalization/tracking

Additional vibration analysis services can also be provided as follows:

  • Modal Analysis
  • Operating Deflection Shape Testing
  • Orbit Analysis
  • Multi-channel transient & critical speed analysis
CSI equipment and RBMware software are used for portable vibration monitoring.
CSI 2130-2 Channel analyzer and AMS V5.3.
